OIAG Supervisory Board meeting 5.9.2003
05.09.2003 16:22

The Supervisory Board of OIAG approved by majority vote the next stage of the privatisation of Voest in accordance with the decision of the Council of Ministers from 24.6.2003.

Details on this project will be provided on the basis of the actual transaction.

This step will make it possible for the managing board of Voest to continue the successful path on which the company embarked with the IPO in 1995.

The scheduled agenda could not be followed due to the intensive discussion on Voest.

Peter Michaelis, Spokesman of the Managing Board of OIAG, reported briefly on VA Tech, in particular the fact that the takeover commission stressed the highly sensitive nature of the VA Tech strategy.

Mr. Michaelis also reported on the search to fill the fourth managing board post at Post AG.

Dr. Hellwig Torggler stepped down from the Supervisory Board, effective at the end of the current meeting, due to potential future conflicts of interest.

Dr. Michael Enzinger was appointed to the OIAG Supervisory Board by the capital representatives. Dr. Enzinger, born in 1959, is a commercial lawyer focusing on company law and is also professor for commercial and economic law at the University of Vienna.
